I make money working as an Automotive Service technician for over 30 years. Currently
I am the Shop Foreman at Avondale Chrysler/Jeep.
My current ride is a 2002 FLHTCI, and have been a
HOG 93 member since May 2002. I have been riding
motorcycles for over 30 years.
Hobbies: hunting, camping and working on my bikes. |

This is my 4th term as a Chapter 93 Officer. I look forward
in
helping the chapter grow and meeting the goals we set forth.
I have four children, and
two grandchildren. I am retired from the army, and have
worked for a collections agency for the past twenty years.
I
have been riding motorcycles for forty-three years. My
current ride is a 2007 Screaming Eagle Ultra Classic
Electra Glide. I wanted to be an officer with Chapter 93 so
I
can be more involved with the chapter and its charities.
My
personal goal is to help raise $100,000 for the children's’ burn
camp. I look forward to riding with you and meeting new
members. Always remember its all about the... RIDE! |

This is my second year as a primary officer; I was
the
photographer for another Chapter. I am married to Mike
and we have been together for the last twelve years. Mike
has two daughters; I have none unless you count the dog,
Maggie and the cat, Sassy. We are currently raising a
grandson...Colin. I am an accountant by day. When I met
Mike he had a Sportster that was far from comfortable.
Plus... we looked funny with four really long legs and one
really short bike. Thus, I have been riding more since we
got the Road King. I wanted to become an officer because
I wanted to be more active with the best Chapter in the
West!

I fell in love with motorcycles in 1994 when I
started riding on the back of a Heritage Softtail
Standard. I really like feeling the wind
through my hair. About five years ago a friend
flipped me his keys and told me to lock up his
bike. I knew at that instant I was going to buy
my own bike.
I sat on many bikes before I finally decided I
wanted to purchase at Heritage Softtail Classic.
I was not sure I would like being the pilot
of a motorcycle after being a passenger for
almost four years. (My children call it my
mid-life crisis) I purchased a 2000 pearl white
Heritage Softtail Classic.
I had a great teacher who was very patient
with me while he taught me to ride safely. I
recently rode many miles with the same friend
who owned the Softtail Standard; He helped
me gain a lot of confidence in my abilities as
a rider. Although owning my own bike is
great, I occasionally still like to take the back
seat.
I was Activities Director of another chapter
for 3 ½ years before I came to HOG 93 four
years ago. I chose to join this Chapter because
of the dedication to raising money for
children’s charities. I have served as Secretary,
Membership and Treasurer. I enjoy being
involved, raising money for the children,
making new friends, and the adventures while
riding my motorcycle.

Originally from Northern Minnesota, I moved
to Arizona in 1992 after spending eight years
in California. My first bike was a 1984 Honda
Interceptor that cruised between San Diego
and LA every weekend. I have been married to
my wife Julie for fourteen wonderful years,
and we have one daughter. I've been a
computer tech “nerd” for about twenty years,
while working for various hotel management
companies. I currently ride an 2006 Sportster.
My most memorable ride, was the first trip
around the block. |

Age: I am younger then Dean,Scott,Jack & Rufus. I was born in 1951 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. I always tell my students I am older then dirt.
HIGH SCHOOL & BEYOND: It feels like I have been in school for a hundred years. I went to Lincoln High School and graduated in 1969. Then went to college and graduated with a B.S.degree in Music Education. I went on to get a degree in elementary education. Then masters... and more courses....and I am still in school. The more I learn...the more I realize how little I have learned.
EMPLOYMENT: Music Teacher grades K-6th. I have been teaching for 30 years. You definitely can't get rich teaching but you are never bored!
GREATEST JOY: My Husband of 34 years.....Dave
BIKE STUFF: I rode on the back of Dave's numerous bikes for 33 years. I had to get off the back of the bike and see were I was going. So... July 12, 2004, I passed my motorcycle tests and got my license...YES! My first bike was a 500 cc Buell. Then for my birthday in October Dave bought me a brand-new beautiful Sportster Low (Chopper Blue). I ask myself; Why did I wait so long??
FAVORITE SAYING: "There is no such thing as a secondary road on a Harley."

My hometown is Buffalo, NY, which outside
of the winter weather is a great place. I have
a B.S. degree in Music Education. I taught for
two years in a private school, but then had to
look for employment in other fields due to an
over abundance of teachers. I got a job as a
file clerk for a trucking company and have
worked for transportation companies ever
since, first in Buffalo, then Los Angeles, and
now Phoenix. I’m currently the Project
Manager for S&M Moving Systems, a United
Van Lines agent. I’ve been married to Steve
for almost 11 years. He had often talked about
wanting to get a touring bike someday, but
events in our life made us realize that you
shouldn’t wait for someday, and we are now
the proud owners of a vivid black 2006
Electra Glide Ultra Classic. I had never
been on a motorcycle, and I do not have good
balance on my own, so I was nervous in the
beginning. Now I have become comfortable
and even take pictures as we are riding.
Besides spending time with Steve ... I enjoy
travelling, reading, doing crafts and spending
time with our dogs.

Safety
Officer / Head Road Captain: James Moore

I started out as a child. Well if you asked some
people today, I am just a bigger version. The
only difference between today and yesterday is
the price of my toys.
I was born and raised in Connecticut many
moons ago. During the mid 60’s I did a stint in
the Navy. After the Navy I returned to the University
to complete my degree. It was while I
was in the navy that I bought my first motorcycle.
It was a Honda-90. Yes... it is a bit smaller
than what I have today. You have to understand
that in GITMO is 45 square miles, mostly of
land mines and salt marshes, there was not too
many roads to ride. It was when I returned to
the University that I bought my first Harley. It
was a 1971 Super Glide a 1200cc shovel head.
That was the most difficult bike to start. As I
found out it was the 38mm Bendix carburetor
that was the culprit. Once I changed to a Mikuni
then life was good! That was the most
radical bike I have owned. Living in Connecticut
one did not ride in the winter months.
Therefore, one winter I sent the engine and
transmission off for some minor customization.
The frame and other body parts to the paint
shop. What came back was one awesome bike.
The engine was bored out .040 over, the heads
were ported and polished, solid lifters were
added, a 44mm Mikuni carburetor was needed,
Andrews close ratio 1st and 2nd gears (I left the
stock 3rd and 4th alone), the primary gear went
down one tooth, and a Sifton 468S ¾ racing
CAM completed the mods. Since then I have
owned many bikes. I did not customize any of
them until I bought the 2004 Ultra Classic. I
have way too much chrome on this bike. Some
may disagree, but they do not have to clean all
that bloody chrome after a ride in the rain.
Like owning many motorcycles... I am now
on my third wife. I truly believe I have got it
right this time. Susan is a wonderful woman
and the only wife that loves to ride. Now
you understand why I kept trading them in.
I am honored that the membership has
railroaded me into this officer position.
Like my predecessors I will do my best to
promote safety in the chapter. I look forward
to many long Sunday rides this year along
with a few over night rides.
God Bless and Ride Safe.

I was born in Chicago Illinois in 1946. I got
married in 1965 and am still married to the
same guy, I can't even believe it myself !
We have a son and a daughter and three
beautiful grandchildren.
My husband was always with the toys. Bikes,
race cars, and I never got what he saw in it. I
just don’t get it! Once the kids where grown
and out of the house we had more time for
each other. So, Dannie bought a new 1998
Dyna Wide Glide. Wow... what a thrill that
was for me on the back.
We moved to Phoenix in 1999. We waited to
join a chapter until last year. Once we saw
how committed Chapter 93 was to children
and how friendly everyone was that did it for
me. We just had to join the chapter!
I am very excited that one year later I am
going to be an officer in Chapter 93. As of
now I am not 100% sure of what my duties are
but you better believe…. I will give it my all!
I don't ride my own bike yet. So I am very
happy when I can hitch a ride when my
husband is not in town. We just ordered a new
Screaming Eagle Road King. Maybe the
suspension will be lowered on the Dyna and
you may see me riding. Wheeeee……
Maybe I am starting to get it!

I have been a HOG member for four years, and the
editor for Chapter 93 for one year, it doesn't seem that
long. I like writing about people, events, and neat
parts. I really enjoy being the editor for the chapter.
Motorcycles are a life long passion, I have been riding
since I was thirteen years old. At first my family
didn’t like the idea of motorcycles. When I turned
sixteen my father brought home a used Ford Falcon.
He told me if I got rid of the bike, the car was mine. I
was amused at the thought of my best friend, (Honda
Super Hawk) for a car. I smiled at my dad and said
thanks, but no thanks. He eventually gave me the car,
dad’s sometimes do things like that for their kids.
By day I am a school teacher, a public school band
director. No wonder... I have bad hearing! By night I
like to build small electronic gadgets.
I am married to a school teacher, imagine that! She is
also a photographer, never a dull moment. We both ride Harleys.
I ride a 2007 custom Softtail, really never a
dull moment!!

Age: 47
Height: Not tall enough
Weight: To darn heavy. Can I trade some of
the weight for height?
Hair: Not much left.
Ride: 2006 Electra Glide Ultra Classic Vivid
Black w/Flamed theme.
I've been a member of HOG 93 for just about
two years now and my second year as Web
Dude. My profession is a manager of a Web
application development group for a Arizona
bank. I am skilled in several programming
languages and am also an A+ certified PC
Technician and a Network Engineer for Novell
and Windows Networks.
Being both a programmer
and a tech can cause some confusion
with others in each field. A Tech can't understand
how I can understand programming and
a programmer can't understand how I can do
hardware. I'm just a geek freak of nature I
guess.
I've loved motorcycles from when I
was a teen and owned one from time to
time. The Harley was a dream I never really
knew I had until my wife, Margaret, dragged
me kicking and screaming into Buddy Stubbs
during his Grand Opening at his new dealership.
Once I was in the dealership she had to
drag me out again.
It took several months
before I went back and ordered my ride. I will
NEVER go back to those other bikes because
I understand now.
I hope to get suggestions from the members
on what they want of the website. So don't be
afraid to email me or talk to me at an event. Geeks don't
byte, not one bit. (Geek humor, ya gotta love it.)
